Are Bash Bars Street Legal
A rotating bar sounds gimmicky, but the elegance and poise of this particular spot mean that locals are as likely to be found here ordering sazerac cocktails as tourists are. The main bar of the historic Monteleone Hotel, the Carousel has a proud cultural heritage to go with its fairground-themed decor. Literary heavyweights such as Tennessee Williams and Truman Capote were regulars in their day, and there's still much of the place that feels like a classic haunt, a place to linger over a well-made mint julep. If you don't like the idea of a full revolution every 15 minutes, there are tables around the room and waiter service.
